Edinburgh Business School, pioneer of the distance-learning MBA, enters a new era with appointment of Executive Dean.
Edinburgh Business School, the Graduate School of Business of Heriot-Watt University, with campuses in Edinburgh, Dubai and Malaysia, has appointed an international businesswoman and human resource specialist to its top post, to help the school build upon its exceptional track record for developing leading professionals across the globe.
Professor Heather McGregor CBE is to become Executive Dean at Edinburgh Business School, home of one of the most flexible and popular MBA programmes with students and alumni in 166 countries across the world. She will bring a wealth of global business and career development experience that has included working with and developing the careers of some of the world’s leading political, business and financial figures.

Professor Richard Williams OBE, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Heriot-Watt UniversityAs a visiting professor and lecturer, Professor McGregor has taught at a number of business schools world-wide on subjects including employability and the development of social and human capital.
Professor McGregor is widely respected as a strong champion of diversity in the workplace and was awarded a CBE in June 2015 for services to business, especially employment skills and diversity. She was a co-founder of the 30% Club which campaigns to increase the number of women on company boards, and founded the award-winning Taylor Bennett Foundation programme helping to promote the employment of ethnic minority graduates in the workplace.

Professor McGregor is also a respected commentator, broadcaster and author who has written extensively for the Financial Times, The Times and Management Today. She has significant professional experience in the international capital markets, with particular expertise in human resources and change management networks.
