Master of Accounting  June 21, 2016 – 08:50 am

The Master of Accounting (MAcc) at the Huntsman School of Accountancy is designed for students who have the desire to elevate their professional opportunities and become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).

Concurrent Bachelor and Masters Degree (PAcc)

Current USU Undergraduate Accounting students planning to complete an Accounting Masters degree can participate in the Professional Accounting Program (PAcc). This PAcc allows undergraduate accounting students to combine requirements and earn their Bachelors and Masters degree concurrently over a two year period, reducing the total credit hours and maintaining eligibility for federal funding.

Program Recognition and Placement

In 2016, the School of Accountancy undergraduate program was ranked 39th and the graduate program was ranked 35th in the nation by the Public Accounting Report. The graduate program was ranked 4th in the nation out of smaller accounting departments (15 or fewer full-time faculty). The School of Accountancy ranks 24th nationally for first time pass rates on the CPA exam based on 2015 data. Three recent MAcc graduates, Jill Aoki, Anthony Lemon and Tyson Irwin, have been awarded the Elijah Watt Sells Award, for their outstanding performance on the CPA exam.

The MAcc enjoys ongoing recruiting relationships with the Big Four accounting firms, large regional accounting firms, local firms, and government agencies. For the past three years, an average of 93 percent of MAcc graduates have accepted employment offers by the time of their graduation.
