This course is aimed primarily at middle and senior managers looking to improve their standing in industry. It combines current business theory and local and international perspectives with hands-on project work. The program is interwoven with a core set of values reflecting our commitment to ethical and sustainable corporate governance practices. Through constant exposure to the culture of excellence at our Graduate School of Business, you can be assured that your MBA will prepare you for the challenges of an ever-changing business environment. The Curtin MBA is offered as a generalist MBA or as one of the following majors.

Available majors:

This course will provide you with a thorough foundation in contemporary business theories. Your studies will emphasise the creation and critical evaluation of innovative ideas and strategies within ambiguous and uncertain business environments. Throughout the course you will either specialise in leadership, strategic procurement or oil and gas, or major in business administration to complete a broad range of high level, general business units.

CGSB Professional Portfolio: 40 Hours

In addition to completing the MBA components, students are also required to complete a Professional Portfolio (minimum of 40 hours of professional development).

*All students without a first degree in business/commerce are required to complete the four foundation MBA units. Students with a first degree in business/commerce may be eligible for a unit substitution for the foundation units with four additional optional MBA units.

Entry requirements for Australian and New Zealand students

A bachelor degree or equivalent, or our Graduate Certificate in Business, plus at least three years' relevant work experience. High performing applicants without an appropriate academic background may be admitted and required to complete bridging or special course units. This may extend the course duration.

Selection is based on a range of information including previous academic results, referee reports, relevance of work experience, career aspirations and test results and interview.

Additional requirements

Students with more than two failures or more than four units with grades below 60% will be excluded from the course so as to maintain the high standard expected of the MBA qualification.

Fees are indicative first year only.

Based on a first-year full-time study load of 225 credits. 300 credits are needed to graduate from this course. The total cost will depend on your course options (i.e. units selected and time taken to complete).
